Geeverghese Mar Gregorios or Parumala Thirumeni is the greatest saint the Malankara Orthodox Church has given birth to. |

Mar Gregorios, was born on 15th June 1848 in ‘Chathuruthy’ house at Mulanthuruthy in Kerala as the youngest son of Kochu Mathai and Mariam. He had two brothers Kurien and Varkey and two sisters, Eli and Mariam.

Born on 2nd October, 1924 at Pathamuttom, a village in Kottayam District of Kerala State, India of the parents Kurien Mariam of Kayyalath family, he was called Punnoose. |

School Education started at the local village school and completed from the nearby English Medium School. B.A. and M.A. History were obtained from D.N. Jain College and Mahakoshal Mahavidhyalaya, Jabalpur.
